Ideas, strategies and projects that give rise to pilot projects. They tackle the challenges raised by the stakeholders involved and which are found in particular places in Barcelona or Medellín.

INTERMEDIATE SPACES the texture and skin of the city

Each city has its own form of inhabiting, manifested in architectural spaces that construct the tissue which characterizes the texture of the city. This research project presents a series of architectural spaces that set out to understand the way in which architecture can accommodate the rituals of the everyday, individual and collective ways of life that characterize a place.

Each of the projects presented here (7), regardless of scale or location, records the architectural detail of the intermediate spaces that reinterpret ways of inhabiting the folds of our mountains. There are terraces and balconies that open up to the city, outdoor stairways and little bridges spanning differences in level to provide access to the dwelling, courtyards and paths that are extensions of the home. All of these intermediate spaces link private life—the home—and the public sphere—the street—within the city.
