Ideas, strategies and projects that give rise to pilot projects. They tackle the challenges raised by the stakeholders involved and which are found in particular places in Barcelona or Medellín.

Racons Públics

Racons Públics is a competition that encourages people’s participation in the design of their city, recovering and revitalizing for public space points of the city that are run-down, abandoned, overlooked or undervalued. It aims to open up the planning discipline to other fields of the sciences and arts, and to salvage significant spots around the city using participants’ ideas.

Racons Públics is taking part in Piso Piloto with a selection of projects of urban microsurgery. To date it has produced eight finalists in its various editions and formats. They are objects that explore the relation between interior and exterior, in and out, street and house:

  1. Barcelona shutter. Diana Usón, Pau Sarquella.
  2. Ateneu d’Horta. Eva Sánchez, Pablo Roel.
  3. Passatge Sert. Jordi Roldan, Crisant Romans.
  4. Carrer Comtal. Anat Kleinmann, Ruben Wodovosoff.
  5. Blind wall in Plaça dels Castellers. Ekain Elaizola, Guillem Aloy.
  6. Windows. Sofía Mataix and Miquel Ollé.
  7. Carrer de la Rosa. Various architects.
  8. Plaça de Sants. Albert Viaplana.
