Ideas, strategies and projects that give rise to pilot projects. They tackle the challenges raised by the stakeholders involved and which are found in particular places in Barcelona or Medellín.
The imagined city has its own urban dystopia in its historic centre. The centre that came into its own in the industrial city has gradually been transformed since the time when the city became the world’s most violent.
Cartographies mapped by a group of people with the experience of being directly affected by the urban transformations, because their practices need the street for their expression. Social cartographers, designers, photographers, skateboarders and punks, among others, organized according to the way they monitor the problems associated with the process of gentrification occurring in Medellín city centre, on three fronts: the street, the Internet and the gallery.
The work of these people takes as its departure point interpretations and experiences in the city of Medellín since the 1980s, taking the historic centre as the point of reference. Since this is the space of many meetings and, therefore, controls at multiple levels, we chose the tactic of Cartographies on the Lookout.
