Ideas, strategies and projects that give rise to pilot projects. They tackle the challenges raised by the stakeholders involved and which are found in particular places in Barcelona or Medellín.

The CTPA proposed the theme of emergency housing in the geographical framework of Barcelona and its metropolitan area as part of the 2014-2015 academic year and in relation to the exhibition Piso Piloto at the CCCB. Each of the teaching units applied its own criteria, but worked on the same common theme.

Taking as their departure point housing in the present-day context, the students presented almost 300 projects, propositive works that are displayed in this cupboard like a great showcase of new ways of acting and designing in an immediate future.

This was accompanied by a series of meetings to share research, table issues and even address practical challenges collectively. These joint events also served to explore the problems of housing from a viewpoint of personal experience, at the same time interrelated with other workshops at the CTPA. To date, joint actions have taken the form of a presentation at Les Planes during a dinner for 300 people, a meeting to share the students’ projects and the construction, in a weekend, of an emergency dwelling for 100 persons in which, once built, the CTPA students had dinner and spent the night.

During the run of the exhibition Piso Piloto, there will be more collective actions, which will also be presented in this cupboard.
